Rev Run's New Album

I found this on a site called Law Town Music, so I thought I would put it on my site to big up Rev Run's new album.

Also....I saw the MTV Video Music Awards tonight, well, at least bits and pieces considering that the 4100 season finale was on. Most interesting thing I noticed was Fat Joe and 50 Cent at the same event....so does this mean that their "beef" is over?
Hmmmm........
Who shot Suge?

Check out: Suge Knight Shot In Miami, In Good Condition

When you listen to the Makavelli "Seven Day Theory" CD, you hear a whisper saying "Suge shot me". Suge was a man who embodied the whole "corporate thug" ethic, so much that in the movie "The Show",Russell Simmons said that he was "on his dick".

He was a man of respect and fear back in the day.Looks like now he is everybody's target.

I was reading one of these magazines where Crooked I was talking about being on "Tha Row" (or whatever it is named now), and he said that in LA there are gang members who think of Death Row as being like a gang. Therefore, people are targets for gang hits and attacks.

How did it all turn so much for Suge? I remember when he was the man back in the day, and all the rumors, like how he hung Vanilla Ice from a hotel balcony, or the one where he had some dudes sodomize a radio DJ, and then there were his many opponents who met violent deaths. He was a a big player in the industry, and if it wasn't for Tupac's death, he would've "gotten" every major hit maker in the industry.

Then there was the whole conflict with P Diddy (uh, Diddy, as he is called now). Now, P Diddy (who is hosting the VMA's; the irony in that can't be lost on Suge) is succesful and well liked in the music business. On the other hand, Suge can hardly get any of his artists on the radio. I don't think anybody will touch Suge with a ten foot pole.

I think that alot of the hate against Suge in general is that most blame him for Tupac's death, for Biggie's death, and for the death of all West Coast rap. When I read the story, one thing I noticed was that Suge was all alone on the floor in pain after he got hit. What about his crew, his entourage, his boyz? Damn, has it gotten that bad?

Suge is alright to me, but I think that this happening to him is an all-time low. I guess what comes around goes around. He did what he did back then, and now trouble is finding him at every turn. I hope he makes his comeback.

Gas Boycott for 3 Days (Aug 29-31, 2005)

Just passing this message along.....

Send the list to your friends!!!!
This forward will make a difference!!!!
Anytime we can stick it to them it's a good day.

Six years ago on April 30,1999, a gas out was staged across Canada and
the U.S. to bring the price of gas down, and it worked. It's time to do
something about it again.

This time, lets make it for three days instead of just one. The oil
cartel decided to slow production to drive up gasoline prices. Lets see
how many American people we can get to ban together for a three day
period in August NOT TO BUY ANY GASOLINE, during those three days.

LETS HAVE A GAS OUT. Do not buy any gasoline from August 29, 2005,
THROUGH August 31, 2005. Buy what you need before the dates listed
above, or after, but try not to buy any during the GAS OUT. If you want
to help, just send this to everyone you know and ask them to do the
same. We brought the prices down once before, and we can do it again!
Come on North America lets stand together.

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

"Crash"

I saw that movie "Crash" today, and this to me was an awesome movie. There was so much for me that stuck and made me think deeper. I didn't really expect this movie to really be what it was. I thought it was going to be some fast paced urban action flick; after all it had Ludacris in it!

However, it turned out to be really thought provoking. It's not perfect by any means, but it really resonated with me. One thing that stuck for me was one scene where the hard working, upper class yet conflicted black character Cameron (played by Terrence "Hustle&Flow" Howard) after one incident faces his thuggish criminal counterpart (played by Ludacris)and says "You embarass me".

Well, coming home, I get in this cab driven by this really nice cab driver who
takes me home for cheap since the buses don't run after like 11 PM, I didn't drive, and chances are I'd have to walk, and I was just too tired for that. This other guy is looking all flustered and stuff, and I seen dude around the DC area but I didn't really know him.

The cab driver was ready to just pick me up since he knows me, but he wasn't going to pick the other guy up. I think that it's real shytty how cab drivers don't pick young black men who dress and look a certain way. He said he was willing to pay the cab driver to drop him off on one of the main roads. So, I vouch for the guy make it easier for dude to be taken to where he wants to go.

I allow the cab driver to drop the guy off first and then the guy says thanks to the driver but doesn't pay him. The cab driver is a nice guy and he isn't equipped to handle stuff like that. He does say to the guy, "I thought you were going to pay me" and the guy looks all dumbfounded. I heard him say that he'd pay, but he's acting like he didn't say it. As the driver drove me home I felt bad so I paid for his fare and mine.

Thing is, it's hard enough in this area for brothers to get cabs. Now I see why. Was that nonsense really necessary? I felt what that character in the movie felt. Brothas can be so foul sometime.

P Diddy now just Diddy? Say it aint so!!!!

You know you've arrived when you can turn on Comedy Central and on not just 1, but 2 shows the hosts joke about you changing your name. It was one thing to see it on John Stewart's Daily Show, but then I heard it on "Too Late With Adam Carolla", and I was like "Whoa, this is some heavy stuff!"

So, I went on the internet and checked out what sites put this "Diddy" story out there. There is a report on E! Online, of course, they ride everybody's tip. You're famous, they report when you take a dump. There's a report in my native town paper, the Hartford Courant. Of course MTV has to have it, him being that super-cool rapper guy that their crossover audience is so crazy about. You got something in USA Today. There's another story in Soundslam. Then there is the National Ledger. The list goes on, but I will stop there.

Not hating on the brotha though, he's the king of cool and a major trendsetter. It just trips me out how the media jumps on what I guess are insignificant stories especially in this day and age of so much stuff going down in the world. Also, back in the days when rappers were doing real things and begging to be noticed, the only time any rappers got recognition was when some negative stuff happened. I dunno man, it's a new world in hip hop!

1988-rappers speak out against violence; who cares?

The War Question

Now that the US govt is on its way to invade Iran, I think there are still some questions to be answered. This guy does it pretty well.

From: "imoutlaw"
Date: Sat Aug 13, 2005 1:58pm
Subject: About the War Question

I am late on answering the war question .... been busy. But here it
is. Same thing I have been saying since the wars started.

The Novel Begins. *LOL*

What you don't hear in the news.

Hitler started WWII by creating an excuse to go to war. He had
German troops dress in Polish uniforms and burned down a famous
German Building. That gave him the political strength to start the
war. He used this building's burning to infuriate the German People
so they said, yes, invade Poland.

In May 2001, Little Bush gave the Taliban $75 million. Could it be
it was given to them to strike the Trade Towers so Bush had
something to use to infuriate the people and start two wars?

Exxon (an American Company) sold out to BP (British Petrolem). BP
has been getting $3 a gallon for gas in England for many years, and
even Big Bush wanted to raise gas prices. When Carter was in office,
a peanut farmer, the price of peanuts soared. Both times excuses
were made that sounded logical to the American People.

England and the U.S are the primary players in the war in Afganistan
and Iraq. BP needs more oil to control the market, and Iraq has the
second biggest oil fields in the world.

England told Little Bush that Iraq was building Weapons of Mass
Destruction and Tenet the head of the CIA said it was a Slam Dunk.
England was wrong and their scape goat committed suicide? Little
Bush lied to the American People so he could go to war with Saddam,
a war Saddam had been anticipating and preparing for 18 years
because of threats used to take over his countries oil. Little Bush
said I was misinformed, Tenet resigns, Little Bush gives Tenet an
award. Was the award for lying to the American People or being the
scape goat for Bush? You make the call.

Big Bush said on public TV that it is illegal to target the leader
of another nation. The law didn't change. Little Bush targeted
Saddam. He is a war criminal under law, but, not charged just like
the German People didn't charge Hitler when they knew he was
breaking laws and being a war criminal.

Cheney is VP and used to work for Haliburton. No contracts were put
out to bid, Little Bush just awarded them to Cheney's former
employer.

Within one hour of the Pentagon being hit by a plane, Cheney makes
the statement it is Bin Laden. No time for investigation, no bodies
identified, no one having done a single investigative procedure, and
he already knew it was Bin Laden. Could it be that he and Little
Bush knew it as they paid the $75 million for it to happen? Is that
why Little Bush was flying around and not in the White House during
the attacks of 9/11?

In order to extradite someone from another country, your attorneys
go to the world court, present the evidence of why we want this
person extradited. Then the accused is given copies of the
evidence. The country holding him then makes a decision to turn the
individual over or not. Imagine Germany wanting you for something
they say you did. Would the U.S. just turn you over with out an
investigation or any evidence? The Taliban asked for the evidence,
Little Bush didn't want anyone putting together, just like Hitler,
that he paid to have the trade towers targeted and destroyed. It
worked great to infuriate the people of the U.S. But, the Taliban
did nothing to us in any way. They simply asked for evidence as was
their legal right and responsibility under world law. So why are we
fighting the Taliban? They followed their Bibles better than we
follow ours? One of the issues made was how they treat their women.
Read the Bible, that is how we are supposed to treat ours as well.
Would you expect the U.S. to ask for evidence and fight extradition
using the laws before turning you over to another country?

There were no weapons of mass destruction, so Iraq was not
inviolation of the U.N. resolutions. There was no reason for going
to war.

Add up those that Saddam killed in his country, and those that
President Lincoln killed in this country in the Civil War. Saddam is
the Butcher of Bagdad? Well, then add up the U.S. Soldiers,
Iraqi's, and Afgan's that have been killed by Little Bush. Does that
not make him the Murderer of the Middle East? He had no reason for
either war. The court's would have issued an order for Bin Laden if
Little Bush really had proof or overwhelming evidence. But, Bush had
a 4 year term and didn't have time to wait for the courts as he
wouldn't be able to start his wars and keep the people infuriated
for that long. Cooler heads would have prevailed if Little Bush
followed the laws that are in place to deal with this issue.

Gas prices are heading for $3, right where they are in England and
have been for years. Right where both Bush's, being oil men, wanted
them. Wall Street reports profits for BP went up 30%. Gasoline at
the pumps went up 30% in the same period. Shortage or more profits
for the oil companies? Then there is the $200 million given to
Little Bush to buy the Presidency. It came from Oil Company's. Is
Little Bush artificially inflating the prices to pay back those who
invested in purchasing the White House?

Who is responsible for these wars, lies, rising profits for the
rich? The congress is one sided, Republican's. Republican's that
don't insist their party follows the laws and doesn't do a thing to
put in check the war criminal Little Bush ... again, remember, it is
unlawful to target the leader of another nation according to Big
Bush.

My solution is simple. Impeach Little Bush. The Republicans
impeached Clinton for having sex. Little Bush, without cause, is
killing our children, so he and his oil buddy friends can get rich
off of us. Under the law there was no reason for either war. The
law would have handled it and Little Bush was required by law to
follow the law, not to circumvent the law, break it, lie to the
people, award people who lied to him, etc.

Why is none of this on the news? Because if anyone would dig into
it, Little Bush would be tried as a war criminal. He has killed
more people by throwing out the laws, than Saddam did while acting
like President Lincoln and trying to keep his country intact, and
unified. Saddam did a better job of keeping peace that Little Bush
is doing in Iraq. The wrong man is on trial. Bush would put down
rebellion also. Look at the raids and arrests in this country for
suspected terrorists.

Then there is the Homeland security and Patriot Act. In WWII Hitler
had the SS who kept profiles on the people, restricted movement,
intimidated people, violated their civil rights, violated human
rights, and the entire world condemned these practices. They are not
going on here and all you here from Little Bush is remember 9/11. We
are not safe. But who are we not safe from? We are not safe from
our own Lawmakers, the Republican's, our law enFARCEment. There are
profiles on everyone of us, and if you exercise your right to free
speech, you are covertly put on list and the government taps photos
hacks email, destroys your life with invasion of privacy. The
Patriot Act, does not over ride the U.S. Constitution. A law that
is the supreme law of the land, and all Judges are Bound by it. But
even judges, just like in WWII Germany, concerned for their own
careers, are playing politics and throwing out our supreme law with
lower subordinate laws. Acts that can't exist in this country under
our supreme law.

These are observations and questions to which there have been no
answers. The major war monger media, Fox News, is a propaganda
station under the control of the FCC. Who controls the FCC? The
Republican Congress and Little Bush. So much for fair and balanced.

Until I get answers to these questions, and have these observations
addressed in an open and honest fashion (with witnesses and
evidence), my solution is to recall every Republican in Congress,
and never vote for another Republican in any office until these
matters are addressed with facts instead of political spin,
accusation, defamation, ideology. The law says "rich man poor man
beggar thief, all are entitled to equal protection of the law". That
includes the Taliban, Bin Laden, Saddam, and entitled to these laws
before all is taken from them and evidence destroyed.

Oh, I am not a fan of the Democrats either as they haven't asked or
found factual answers to any of these observations and questions.
So, as I have stated many times, 46% of this nation's voters are
either Democrat or Republican, which makes them the minority group.
One reason for attacking in Afganistan, a reason given on Fox News,
was the minority dictating to the majority. The majority in this
nation are not members of either party, have no representation in
Congress, and are having either the Democratic Party or Republican
Party, both minorities, dictating to them. So is Russia going to
declare war on the U.S. as they don't like the way we dress our
women, or the minority is dictating to the majority? Why not? We did
it to Afganistan. I think it is time we have our own majority party
and enjoy partying as we crash and eliminate the other parties who
for some reason forgot they work for us. I would bet your boss
would fire you if you lied to him or misled him. Why is it
different with Democraps and Republicants?

So Little Bush .. you war criminal ... "Kiss My Gas". You need to
be impeached. I even did a special photo for you that Princ-s will
be uploading for the group, showing you my opinion so there can be
no twisting, no political spin, no spin doctors, .... everyone
should be able to understand it clearly. The problem is Cheney went
along with all this so he is no better. So here we are, an
historical first ... impeach them both!

Think about these observations and question. How many of them tie
together over and over again? Are these all coincidences? The only
ignorant question is the one not asked.

Now what questions do you have about these "wars" and "gas prices"
that haven't been answered? What are your observations? What are the
possibilities supported by other objective views of the people, the
true owners of this country?

God Bless,
I.M. Outlaw

Sieze the day: The 40th Anniversary of the Watts Riots

Today in 1965 in Los Angeles was the mother of all urban uprisings. No event will ever compare.

From Wikipedia, here's how it started:

The riots began on August 11, 1965, in Watts, when Lee Minikus, a white California Highway Patrol officer on a motorcycle, pulled over African American Marquette Frye, who someone reported was driving erratically. While police questioned Frye and his brother Ronald Frye, a group of people began to gather. A struggle ensued shortly after Frye's mother Rena arrived on the scene, resulting in the arrest of all three family members. Police used their batons on Frye and his brother during questioning, angering the growing crowd. Someone threw a bottle which hit a police car fender. Shortly after the police left, tensions boiled over and the rioting began.

Straight Gangsta BS

Check out:Young Buck, Lloyd Banks Arrested For Gun Possession

The life of a "gangsta rapper" must be a crappy one. I mean, it's like MC Lyte said, "You're not watching the door, so what you got a gun for?" But, to have to be "strapped" even when you ain't running the streets no more is just what I'm talking about. You'd think that if somebody is just famous and rapping, they are removed from the realities of dope slanging and gangbangin'. Being a rapper is not the equivalent of being a gangbanger, or a dopeslanger, or is it? In some people's minds, especially the naive suburban kids who by "gangsta rap", the line between "gangsta" and "rapper" are blurred, and this further makes the rapper more legitimate and "real".

Another thing about this story is Young Buck's whole "F the police" routine. Young Buck went to jail for the gun possesion, then after getting out of jail:

On Tuesday afternoon (August 9) a spokesperson for the Manhattan district attorney's office said it was quite possible that Banks and Buck would miss Tuesday night's Anger Management show at the Garden, but both appeared as scheduled. Early on, Buck remarked "I'm back," and later, during the song "Playboy," Banks told the crowd, "I just spent the night in jail. Y'all better put your hands up!" At the end of the night, Buck said, "Ain't a mutha------' thing changed. It's still f--- the police! And I ain't going to jail, either."

Now, saying f the police is real coming from the Black Panthers, The Last Poets, Rodney King, and even NWA. At the time NWA did their song F the Police, that was a legimate expression of anger at police brutality. It was extreme in calling for the shooting (called "taking out" in the song) of police. But it was all fantasy, and letting off steam.

However, when Young Buck says it, he's just being an asshole more or less. Coming from the author of such ghetto nonsense like "Shorty Wanna Ride", it doesn't really represent nothing, it's all just for shock value. Although some of his tracks bump, Young Buck is probably one of these cats who never got roughed up by the police in his life. Like Tupac, he didn't "have a record until he made a record."

Carrying guns and saying "F the Police". Whatever. He might be fooling those 17 year old white kids from the suburbs who buy his records, but he isn't fooling me.

Wheaton Plaza

One place here I kick it at is Wheaton Plaza Mall. It's an urban ghetto type mall. Just last week Olivia and Tony Yayo from G-Unit did an autograph signing at one of the shoe stores there. Unfortunately, on the same day of the autograph signing, there was a stabbing at the Target store I go to just about every day.

This stabbing involved members of the gang MS-13 and now there is an even bigger uproar about the gangs that are in this area. I guess they got solutions or whatever, but my thing is, what is up with the prevalence of gang culture in this area?

Today I went to the mall and I noticed some dudes who were I guess "Bloods". You know, the Bloods street gang based in LA. They were in the mall, they had red on, they had the rags in their back pockets, they were teens. Im like thinking, "What the f?" Do they really know the magnitude of what they are getting into? I guess it isn't much for kids to dress a certain way, but if there is a fad involving dressing up like a blood but not being a blood, I haven't heard about it.

It does make sense in that I guess the MS-13 and other Salvadorian gangs are getting really overbearing here. They are recruiting so much that the incident I mentioned that happened at the mall was due to the fact that some kids didn't want to be down with the gang. I wonder if these other kids dressing up like Bloods are doing that because they are reacting to the MS-13's prominence by taking on the surface aspects of a powerful black gang? Now, with all the information on the net, you can find information on the gangs. You can know everything from the history to the names of rappers former gang sets. However, anybody can wear red and put a red rag in their back pocket, but do these kids really know what this type of life style involves?

Not trying to say that there is even any value in such knowledge. Im also not trying to say that I'd even begin to try to deprogram these kids from The GAME's latest CD or anything. I guess that would be ideal. I'm not speaking for just myself but for everybody else too; we gotta put our heads out and get these kids on a positive track. We got to let them know that trying to emulate the latest gangsta rapper or even real gangbangers is just not the way to go. The ideal path is getting your education and pursuing a career.

Yesterday I watched that movie "Belly" on BET, and it tripped me out how at the end the Minister, the character played by Benjamin Chavis of the Nation of Islam, talked about how approaching a new millenium, and our youths are caught up in selling sex, drugs, and death. The movie was made in 1998. This weekend a preacher who spoke at the church I went to spoke about how the churches just aren't making an impact in dealing with this situation, and how things in the black neighborhoods are getting worse (check out PG County Homicides Pass 100)

I just believe that we as individuals gotta do what we can to deal with it. I don't want our youths becoming gangbangers; I want them to get to become lawyers, doctors, and real leaders. I'll admit, I'm doing what I can to be part of the solution, and I will at least continue to do so. Will you?

Between Niggers and Black Men....

My response to: Think of Yourself as the N-Word, and You’ll Never Be More Than That

You know, Im proud to be black. If I wanted to, I could pass myself of as Latino. I could pass myself off as anything. I used to get upset at the whole idea of being called a "nigga" or a "nigger". Now I'm totally proud of that designation.

Deny me what you want. Deny me that house in the suburbs. Screw it, I don't really need it. Deny me that taxi ride. I'll find another taxi. Deny me that job, and I'll find one that pays more money. I don't get mad anymore about the whole nigger thing.

My ancestry is diverse. I can't directly claim any country, any nationality or any island. I can't claim Jamaica or Puerto Rico. All I can claim is the flag of the nation that enslaved my ancestors, that took them in chains and sold them on the auction block. It's a country that I couldn't care less about, but as long as Im getting mine, it's all good from where I sit. I got my job, I got my family, and I got my health. I live in an area where there are tons of beautiful sistas and I don't have to worry about no religion making them conceal their beautiful bodies.

But Im a nigga and I'll be a nigga till I die. If I was Tiger Woods, I wouldn't be cabajian, I'd be a nigger who plays golf. If I have a job at a corporation, I'll be a corporate nigger. My sister likes to say that my family isn't really black, but we are "white-black". We posses the "decency" and "properness" of white folks and the color of black folks. For her that might be an unfortunate reality, but for me I'll take that nigga designation anyday. I don't want to be "proper", I want to express myself any way I want and at the same time handle my business.

I don't give a damn what white folks, the KKK, the US government, and "proper black folks" think. Screw 'em all.
